Where do we meet our teacher?

On Monday and Tuesday, all our group lessons start at meeting point Village (behind the ice rink). From Wednesday on, the teacher can choose a different meeting point, however always in consideration with the students and parents, of course.

Where are the meeting points?

  • MP Village: in the village at the Kalbermatten beginner lifts, behind the ice rink
  • MP Morenia: at the restaurant Morenia
  • MP Felskinn: between Restaurant Felskinn and the entrance of the metro station
  • MP Spielboden: in front of Restaurant Spielboden
  • MP Feechatz: bottom station of the Feechatz T-bar, near Längfluh

What lift pass do I need to buy?

Children until the age of 5 can use all the lifts for FREE in Saas-Fee. Children with the level PARK (of the ESKIMOS Ski System) won't be needing a ski pass at all. Groups and private guests with the ski level PENGUIN and SEAL need a ticket for the village lifts for the week, which you can upgrade for a lift pass for the entire area (depending on the progress and capabilities of the students). The instructor will tell you when to get the upgrade. If the parents buy a 6-day pass (with citizen passport), children until age 9 can ride for free as well. The birth date on the ID counts.

Basic 1 & Basic 2
Groups and private guests with the level BASIC 1 and BASIC 2 (of the ESKIMOS Ski System) need a ticket for the village lifts for the week. According to capability and progress, the teacher will decide on which slopes in the area the group will ski/snowboard. Based on this decision, the participants might need to buy a ski ticket upgrade for the whole area.

All other levels
For all other levels you need a ski ticket for the entire area including the Adrenalin Cup (included if you show your citizen passport).

How do you grade the various levels?

Students are graded at the time of booking, according to the ESKIMOS ski system and to the SSBS snowboard rider system. If you do not know your level or do now know how to grade yourself, we will gladly advise you.

What does the description of the course mean?

The description of the course is the goal for the week and indicates what you will learn during the course, not what is required for the course. For example: if you're enrolled for the BASIC 2 level, that means that you should be able to do all the components listed under the BASIC 1 level.

And if I was graded incorrectly?

Our supervisor is at the meeting point Village on Monday and Tuesday morning to re-organise the groups if neccessary and to solve any problems.

Are the group sizes really limited?

Yes. Small groups of maximum 6 persons (max. 8 participants in peak weeks due to possible level changes) are part of the ESKIMOS philosophy.

What happens if the group is fully booked?

In this case we open new groups in the afternoon. E.g. from 12.30-03.00 pm.

Is it possible to join a group in the middle of the week?

Only when we have spaces available, we do integrate advanced students into a group in the middle of the week. For total beginners this is unfortunately not possible. The small group sizes allow a fast learning process which makes it harder to catch up with the rest of the group in the middle of the week.

Is it possible to participate in a group lesson on selected days only?

No. To achieve the next level you should take part during all five days. We do not give refunds if you decide not to participate every day.

When is the deadline for bookings?

Due to our limited group sizes we recommend booking online as soon as possible. It is also possible to book in person, in our office.

Do you always offer all levels?

Yes, we can always offer all levels. Please note that we need a minimum of 4 people to run the course for 2.5 hours from Monday till Friday. If a group is under-subscribed ESKIMOS reserves the right to reduce the course duration, cancel the course or run the full course at a surcharge.

Why do group lessons only take 2.5h?

Due to small groups the learning effect is more intense, which makes 2.5 hours an ideal time for our guests. Furthermore we are the first school on the mountain in the mornings, avoiding long queues at the lifts.

Does your Freeride course take place outside the marked slopes?

No. We teach you the required know-how to go freeriding only on marked slopes. We do go on yellow slopes, if the conditions are good. However, it is highly dangerous to ride off-piste in the glacier area of Saas Fee and therefore prohibited by law.

Is there a ski race?

Each group will decide if they want to race one of the Adrenalin Cup ski races.

What do I get at the end of my course?

Every guest will receive a medal and a certificate at the end of the course.

Where will you post movies and pictures?

We will upload movies and pictures taken during the week on the ESKIMOS social media channels.
