Education for ski and snowboard instructors

We offer training to become a ski and/or snowboard instructor. In preparation for the 2026/27 season, we are offering in-house training to become a ski or snowboard instructor. The training includes practical sessions in Saas-Fee as well as a theory module (remote). Both will take place in late November/early December 2026. Upon successful completion of the exam and receipt of the certificate, we may also offer employment as a ski and snowboard instructor for the peak weeks during the winter of the 2026/27 season in Saas-Fee, or even for the entire season.

Your role as a ski/snowboard instructor involves not only qualified instruction with technical and methodological expertise but also snow sports and tourism marketing. Part-time (high season) and full-time positions are available.

Part-time job recommended

Workload as a snowboard or ski instructor

If you are employed as a snowboard or ski instructor, you can expect a workload of around 50%, as instructors can never work the usual 8.5 hours per day in tourism, even in the high season. In the first 2-3 seasons, it is usually only possible to work around 3-4 hours a day. With more experience and training, you can teach up to 5 hours a day.

The workload varies greatly depending on the season. During the high season (Christmas, sports vacations, Easter) there can be more work, while January and parts of March are much quieter. Here you have more time for vacation and individual training.

We recommend that you expect a workload of 40-50%. Alternatively, you could work in a combined position (workshop, sales) or in another job (kitchen, service, cab). We will be happy to help you find a job and accommodation.

Apply early

We have regular teachers who return each year, so there are limited places available. Spring and early summer are ideal times to apply for the coming winter season. You can find all jobs here. Find out early. We are a module provider of the SSBS training. This allows you to complete parts of the SSBS training with us at Eskimos internally and also to complete further modules as a qualified instructor, giving you more opportunities and earning you more. An early application will help you to plan the necessary modules in good time and generally get one of the few places available.
